These resources have already made a meaningful difference in our classroom, giving our students exciting, hands-on opportunities to practice essential math skills while building confidence and having fun.\r\n\r\nSince receiving the materials, we have incorporated the math games into our learning routines to reinforce number sense, fact fluency, and problem-solving skills. Our students love the opportunity to learn through play, collaborate with their classmates, and challenge themselves in new ways. One of the most rewarding things to see is their persistence. When a game or math concept feels challenging, they keep trying, experiment with different strategies, and celebrate their successes. These moments remind us that learning is about so much more than getting the right answer; it is about developing confidence, perseverance, and a willingness to take risks.\r\n\r\nThe organizational materials have also helped us create an accessible, organized system that encourages students to independently choose, use, and return games. This structure supports responsibility and independence while allowing us to make the most of these valuable resources throughout the school year.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for your generosity and for recognizing the importance of making learning engaging and accessible for all students. These materials are helping us create meaningful learning experiences where children can strengthen their mathematical understanding, learn from one another, and discover just how capable they are.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and helping them grow into confident, curious, and resilient mathematicians. Your support is making a difference, one game, one challenge, and one mathematical discovery at a time!","fullyFundedDate":1778190784502,"projectUrl":"project/play-practice-and-master-math/10128309/","projectTitle":"Play, Practice, and Master Math!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dyer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2907881_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1597712581682","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/k-dyer"},{"teacherId":10525323,"projectId":10323936,"letterContent":"These new resources have made such a difference in creating a comfortable and organized learning space for our first graders this school year. Our students use the classroom rugs every day for morning meetings, read alouds, phonics, math discussions, and partner learning. The flexible seating cushions give students additional choices for where they can do their best learning, while the table caddies help keep materials organized and easily accessible. Our first graders are learning to independently get the supplies they need, take care of our classroom materials, and keep their learning spaces organized.\r\n\r\nBecause these materials were ready for the start of a brand-new school year, our current students have always known them as part of their classroom. One of the sweetest reactions has actually come from our students from last year! When they come back to visit their first grade teachers, they immediately notice the new additions and love checking out how their old classrooms have changed. It has been so fun to share the improvements with them and see their excitement for this year's first graders.\r\n\r\nAs the year continues, our students will use these resources daily during whole-group lessons, literacy and math centers, small groups, and independent work. We are continuing to build classroom routines that encourage independence, collaboration, and responsibility, and having organized materials and flexible learning spaces makes that possible. One of my favorite moments so far was during a small-group phonics lesson when a student who usually struggles with decoding rolled a word pattern, read it confidently, and then turned it into a full sentence. The hands-on element has helped my students stay engaged and feel empowered while practicing essential reading and writing skills.\r\n\r\nHow did your students react when they first saw the materials?\r\n\r\nWhen I opened the box, the kids literally cheered. They were so excited to see the colorful dice, mats, and tools. Several students immediately asked, \"Do we get to use these today?!\" It felt like Christmas morning in our classroom. Their excitement made it clear how meaningful these materials are for them.\r\n\r\nNext steps for our current classroom lessons or projects\r\n\r\nRight now, we're working on strengthening decoding, fluency in math, and writing stamina. These new tools will help us continue building those foundational skills in a fun, structured way. Our next step is to use the roll-based writing prompts to create short stories and practice editing and revising. My students are eager to take their reading and writing a little further each day, and these resources will support them as they grow in confidence.","fullyFundedDate":1760741640298,"projectUrl":"project/lets-roll-write-and-shine-in-math/9806085/","projectTitle":"Let’s Roll, Write, and Shine in Math!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brown","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10279501"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_60802","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":304,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":66,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":75,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"10.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.3,"schoolId":60802,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Benjamin J Phelps Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Benjamin J Phelps Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/agawam-public-schools/benjamin-j-phelps-elementary-school/60802"}
