This was a new experience for many of my students, and they were truly excited to learn about an art style that was different from anything they had seen before.\r\n\r\nAs part of the project, students drew animals and birds and then filled the shapes with patterns, lines, and repeated designs to create rhythm. The metallic markers made a big difference. Students were motivated to slow down, focus, and really think about their designs. They took pride in their work and were excited to see how the shiny colors brought their patterns to life. I saw students who are usually quiet become more confident, students who struggle stay engaged longer, and many students push themselves creatively in ways I had not seen before.\r\n\r\nThis project helped my students grow not only as artists but also as learners who respect and appreciate other cultures. They now recognize Aboriginal art and understand that symbols and patterns can have meaning. Even more important, they feel confident using what they learned in their own artwork.
