Several students commented on how \"comfortable\" and \"cozy\" it felt, and they quickly understood that the space was designed to help them feel safe, calm, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThe new desk has also made a big difference in how the space operates. Because of your donations, my students are engaging in deeper, more meaningful learning experiences that emphasize inquiry, collaboration, and critical thinking.\r\n\r\nThe $300 Teachers Pay Teachers gift card allowed me to purchase a complete 4th-grade NGSS-aligned, phenomenon-based science unit. This curriculum reflects best practices in science instruction by prioritizing student observation, questioning, and discovery. My students have already loved the hands-on activities, and as a teacher, I am especially excited to see their growth in critical thinking. Many of my students have never been asked to think in this way—closely observing phenomena, wondering what it means, and designing ways to test their ideas. These are lifelong skills that extend far beyond science class.\r\n\r\nThe Crayola Modeling Clay Classpack has become a STEM essential in our classroom. We use clay for a wide range of modeling and engineering tasks, including demonstrating solar and lunar eclipses, building topographic map layers, and engineering containers to protect an egg from a ten-foot drop. These projects help students visualize abstract concepts and apply their learning in creative, hands-on ways.\r\n\r\nThe GimKit Pro annual subscription has been a huge hit with students. They get genuinely excited when they hear we are using GimKit. It allows students to review vocabulary and key concepts individually, in small groups, or as a whole class across all content areas. I also use it with my academic team students for independent practice between competitions, making review both effective and engaging.\r\n\r\nFinally, the TECKNET wireless doorbell has been a simple but powerful addition to our classroom. It serves as a universal attention signal, even during labs and hands-on activities, helping maintain a safe, focused learning environment for students in grades 4–6.\r\n\r\nTogether, these resources have made a tremendous difference for my students. They are more engaged, thinking more critically, and collaborating more effectively. These hands-on, inquiry-based experiences are memorable and help prepare students with the skills they will need for future academic and career success. Thank you for believing in my students and investing in their learning.\r\n\r\nWith sincere gratitude,\r\nMeghan Miller\r\nIntermediate Science Teacher","fullyFundedDate":1760642503945,"projectUrl":"project/game-on-focus-up-and-get-creative/9702251/","projectTitle":"Game On, Focus Up, and Get Creative!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Miller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7972921_orig.jpg?crop=1445,1445,x0,y110&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1644002171013","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7972921"},{"teacherId":7972921,"projectId":9563250,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our project. Because of you, our intermediate students now have the tools they need to stay organized, feel confident, and fully engage in their learning every day.\r\n\r\nThe Trapper Keepers you funded are already making a tremendous difference. As our students switch classes throughout the day, having a designated place to store assignments, notes, and important papers has helped them develop essential skills in organization, responsibility, and independence. These skills extend far beyond the classroom—they're habits that will continue to support them throughout middle school, high school, and beyond.\r\n\r\nYour gift also supported several additional resources that have elevated learning in all subject areas: Writing paper for accommodations ensures that students with fine motor challenges can participate fully and comfortably in writing tasks. This small change has made a big impact on their confidence and accessibility. Our digital scale and gram set have allowed us to bring hands-on measurement and data collection into our science labs, giving students real-world experience with precision and experimentation. The students loved using the scales to prove the concept of conservation of matter. The composition notebooks are becoming treasured writing journals, providing each student a place to practice skills, develop ideas, and track their growth as writers. Furthermore, the phenomenon-based science items—including the Newton's cradle, hydroponic fish tank, levitating globe, and hand boilers—have transformed our room into a space of curiosity and wonder. These tools spark inquiry, deepen understanding of scientific concepts, and inspire students to ask bigger, better questions. Finally, the STEM and STEAM materials such as cardstock, labels, Sharpies, and tape have given students the creative freedom to build, design, and problem-solve in meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, learning in our classroom is more hands-on, more accessible, and more engaging. You have directly impacted our students' education, helping them grow not only as learners, but as thinkers, creators, and responsible young people.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and investing in their success.
