An "Abilitations Inflatable PeaPod" would be a great tool for my Special Education Resource Room. Students can get in the "pod" themselves, applying deep, even pressure to the body. They can also rock side to side safely for that perfect cocoon type feel. Feeling pressure through the PeaPod has a very calming, relaxing effect that soothes anxiety rapidly. It also activates the nervous system and regulates the sensory system when overwhelmed or overstimulated from environmental input. Having the PeaPod would also help eliviate stress and reduce the onset of meltdowns of my students brought on by everyday classroom noises or situations.
