The moment my students saw it, they were excited to gather together for our morning meeting, read alouds, and small group lessons. Having a comfortable, welcoming space where everyone can sit together has helped create a stronger sense of community and made it easier for students to stay engaged during discussions and learning activities.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping create a classroom where my students feel comfortable, included, and ready to learn. Our rug has quickly become the heart of our classroom, a place where we share stories, ask questions, celebrate successes, and learn from one another every day. The morning it arrived, my students' faces completely lit up with excitement. They couldn't wait to take off their shoes and try out their very own designated spots. Before having this rug, our gathering time felt a bit chaotic and uncomfortable on the hard floor, but now, it has instantly transformed our classroom into a warm, inviting community space where everyone feels like they truly belong.\r\n\r\nWe are currently using our beautiful new rug every single day for our morning meetings, interactive read-alouds, and collaborative math games. Having a defined, comfortable space has done wonders for my students' focus and engagement. During a recent reading lesson, I watched them turn to their rug partners with so much enthusiasm, eagerly sharing their ideas while comfortably sitting crisscross-apple-sauce. It has truly become the heart of our classroom.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, this rug will continue to be the launching pad for our daily learning adventures. Our next step is using this community space to introduce our upcoming interactive science unit on animal habitats, where students will gather to share their research and build collaborative projects. Your generosity has not only provided a physical resource but has created a cozy sanctuary where my first graders love to learn, share, and grow together.","fullyFundedDate":1764692695700,"projectUrl":"project/cozy-classroom-rug/9702839/","projectTitle":"Cozy Classroom Rug","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Serrano","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10251078"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_36406","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":387,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":34,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":60,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.9,"schoolId":36406,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Allen Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Allen Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/burlington-edison-sch-dist-100/allen-elementary-school/36406"}
