This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a class of kindergarten students on the Autism spectrum. My students are thoughtful, fun-loving and inquisitive young learners. They come to school every day ready to learn with smiles on their faces.

I provide my students with individualized instruction in the areas of academics, social skills, and behavioral development.

Learning is customized and individualized so that all of my students have access to the support they need to grow and develop both in school and out of school.

My Project

Our school district is currently fully remote. Each day, instruction is delivered through Zoom. We use the breakout rooms feature constantly, so that students have access to rich one-on-one and small group instruction. In addition, school service providers, such as Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists, use our breakout rooms to deliver instruction.

We need to upgrade our class Zoom account, so that I can assign paraprofessionals and service providers as meeting "co-hosts." This will allow them to have access to host controls, and will allow them to mute/unmute students, in order to encourage participation.
