This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Zones! Zones! Zones!

Jumping into 2023, I am hoping to utilize technology to teach social-emotional skills to students who often cannot afford to have such technology at home.

This project will help fund an Ipad that will be used for a variety of social-emotional apps to assist students at Gocio Elementary, a PreK-5th grade, Title 1 school. The Ipad will primarily be used to teach Zones of Regulation, a simple yet extremely effective curriculum that helps students to emotionally regulate!

My school already has access to the Zones of Regulation curriculum, however, adding the technology component is sure to spark more engagement! Whether we want to admit it or not, our students LOVE technology. Utilizing an Ipad, and the Zones of the regulation app will easily motivate students to become fully engaged in their social-emotional regulation.

Please consider helping Gocio students learn to manage their emotions successfully so in turn, they can succeed not only academically, but in all areas of life!
