Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The items for this donation will go towards creating an inviting and calming space for the students at JE. The Zen Garden is intended for students to go to when they need to reset their emotions. The garden will include an upcycled mailbox that will have the books to help with emotional self regulation. The students will have an area where they can find river rocks and add a kindness message to them. Students will be able to read through the rocks for encouragement. The goal for this space is for students to be able to feel welcomed, at ease, and get themselves ready to go back to class. My students deserve a space that is set up for this because all students deserve to learn and figure out how to regulate themselves.
