Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at our school are hardworking, energetic, and dedicated. Every day they come to school ready to engage in the learning process. They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions!

Their enthusiasm and drive are truly an inspiration to myself and the other staff members at our school.

Our students' positive behavior has earned our school many awards including the National School of Character Award. Being located in an inner city school district has not slowed or deterred their desire to do the absolute best that they can.

My Project

The items that will be purchased for the Zebra Shack will go to support the PBIS initiative. This initiative goes to ensure students will demonstrate and follow the proper behavioral expectations. The items will be used as rewards and incentives for following positive behavior expectations. Our students have always followed our school's expectations and this will allow us to reward them for all their hard work.

Students earn "zebra bucks" throughout the day for displaying positive behavior, as well as, good citizenship.

They can then trade their zebra bucks for free time, trips, and items from the Zebra Shack. Our students really enjoy things such as different color sharpies, lanyards, and earbuds which I am requesting through this project.
