This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

You're probably wondering, "Why does a teacher need 2 iPods for her Classroom?" I'm saying, "Why not?" My 3rd grade students are already facing challenges against them--why not provide them with technology that can make a difference? Learning has no limits & with technology, those limits disappear.

Let me share with you a little of why I want to create a limitless--technologically advanced classroom.

I am a 3rd grade teacher at a Title 1 school. Most of my students are from low-income households. Many of our families want to help in anyway possible; however, few do not speak English at home. Many of my students do not have a computer at home, thus making school the only place where a variety of technologies are introduced. They do not have access to a computer unless they go to a public library or use a family member's. In the society we live in, my students cannot have a limitless classroom if they are never introduced to a variety of technologies. We are no longer in the world of typewriters and pencil/paper. We have to branch out and show our students how to live in a world where computers run our daily lives!

My Project

In order to provide my students with a technology-rich classroom, the two iPod touches would allow my students to use the APPs for reading and math alike! They would become engaged by listening to books read to them, become more fluent readers, and even, be able to record & listen to their own books! In Math, they could review their math flashcards, and practice a variety of math skills using different skills. By your generous support, you would changing my students' lives and making them more technology-rich! They would be allowed to compete with other peers at different schools--allowing them to get better jobs as they get older.

With your donations, you're allowing me to plant a seed into a child I may not be able to reach otherwise.

You're allowing me to show my students that they can think for themselves, they can be anything they want to be, and show them they can reach for their goals! My goal this year is to teach my students with more technology! Help me reach my goal by providing more technology to my students!
