Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are creative, curious, and eager to develop skills that will help them become confident and independent young adults. Growing up in a digital world, many have had limited opportunities to learn cursive handwriting, and some are not yet confident writing their own signature. What makes my students special is their willingness to learn, encourage one another, and take pride in mastering skills they can use beyond the classroom.

The goal of the Signature Club is to help students learn cursive handwriting, develop a consistent personal signature, and gain practical writing skills that prepare them for College, careers, and adulthood.

Each resource will support that goal. Cursive workbooks will provide structured practice with letter formation and connecting letters, while handwriting journals will allow students to practice regularly and document their progress. Quality pens, fine-tip writing tools, and signature practice materials will help students explore different writing styles and create a signature that is uniquely their own. Portfolios will allow students to see their growth throughout the year.

Stationery, cards, and envelopes will transform handwriting practice into real-world learning. Students will practice addressing envelopes, writing professional thank-you notes, completing forms neatly, and signing documents. These materials will also support community service projects through handwritten messages of gratitude and encouragement.

This project is about more than handwriting. It is about confidence, communication, professionalism, creativity, and independence. I want every student to leave The Signature Club able to proudly sign their name and understand that their signature represents their identity, growth, and future.
