My students are learning the basics for managing the stress of the chaotic life of a teenager through regular practice of physical activity and other mindful practices, such as journaling, music therapy, and nature therapy (also known as being outside!).
Yoga brings peace and instills strength for those who regularly practice.
This grounding activity needs to be introduced at an earlier age in our society. Yoga offers students an opportunity to connect their minds and bodies, providing increased mental clarity and awareness while moving.
I am looking forward to teaching yoga on a regular basis in my Stress and Emotional Health class and Fitness for Life class. The mats and blocks this project provides will be well used!
