My Project

I have the FABULOUS opportunity of introducing and encouraging a love of reading in the revolving doors of our elementary school library. Students of all ages Pre K through 8th grade come in weekly for library time. My desire, as the school librarian, is to share with them books and reading materials of many types—one of these being audio books. My desire is to create cozy spaces where students of all ages can independently access picture books, magazines, graphic novels, early readers, chapter books, and even audio that they can learn from.

Recently I came across a fabulous reading tool for students to access audio books while they are in our library space—MINI YOTO PLAYERS!!

These portable devices allow students to have the freedom to explore what inspires them with just the use of an inserted playing card, a set of headphones, and the turn of a dial on their mini device. I would love to grow our library with some Yoto players and card options.

Please consider contributing to this project which would help our students connect to screen-free audio players which will enrich their love for stories, activities, music, and even educational podcasts.
