Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with reluctant readers who have not passed reading in previous years. My students want to do well, but feel defeated and unsuccessful when it comes to reading.

I would like to implement incentives for all their hard work and improvement.

I already do good notes home, but they would really love some tangible incentives.

I pass out "paw points" for those that are working hard and they can use those points to buy items off my classroom menu. I have asked the kids what they would like and I have added those incentives to the cart. They love chips, candy, and fun toys.
