My Project

"The Book Thief" is one of, if not the best, young adult books ever written. I am constantly striving to bring literature to my 7th grade students that will engage, make them think and move them in ways that only great literature can.

Students will explore themes such as literacy and power, friends, love and hate, and death-all themes that transcend beyond the setting of WWII Germany.

These books will provide two 7th grade classes the opportunity to explore these themes and the books will be reused for years to come.

This unit, with "The Book Thief" as the central text, will be ambitious, engaging, important, and powerful!
