This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a classroom full of young writers waiting to bloom into creative authors. Inspiring young minds to write can be a challenge.

I teach in a low income school with a high population of students or parents that are learning English.

Speaking the language is tough, but writing it is even more of a challenge. My First Grade students frequently produce one sentence and want to stop.

My Project

My students need creative writing materials such as folders and Story Stamp sets to boost their interest to write. I have requested some writing resources that are fun and creative, which will certainly inspire my young authors to produce a story, rather than just one line. The story telling stamps will provide the student with a hands on activity to first stamp and then write their story. There is also a story kit, with pre-made pamphlets that students can first illustrate and then write their vacations, family outings or simply their weekend plans.

Handing a student a piece of writing paper and giving them an idea is not enough for first graders.

With the materials requested, I will be able to inspire the YOUNG AUTHOR waiting to bloom in each of my students.
