Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our PreK classroom, we work to learn the basics every single day. After all, PreK is the foundation for the rest of my scholars' learning careers! One way we do this is through Center Time, which is the bulk of our school day. Children are able to move freely from center to center to choose their own learning adventure each day. This means that my job is to ensure that all of our centers are engaging and make my students want to learn there.

With our own dedicated Writing Center Station sitting for four students, my PreK babies will have access to all of our engaging writing tools in one, established space!

Right now in our classroom, we use writing tables that only accommodate two students as our Writing Center. Other students must go to their assigned working table. I believe the students will have more fun and enjoy writing if all four friends are able to sit together. By the time we lug over and arrange our writing materials, the students lose writing time and interactions with their peers. With this new dedicated Writing Center, writing in our classroom will be forever changed for the better. We will be able to have four students at the Writing Center at once, have all of our exciting and engaging writing materials out at one time (giving students more choices in their learning!), and we will finally have a cool, quiet, engaging, and dedicated space for our littlest learners to begin their love for writing!
