My Project

My K–4 STEM classroom is a place where students learn by doing—asking questions, testing ideas, and solving problems together. To fully engage in this kind of learning, students need simple, accessible tools that allow them to share their thinking in real time.

Whiteboards give every student a voice.

With individual whiteboards, students can draw diagrams, solve problems, write predictions, and revise their ideas without fear of making mistakes. This is especially important in STEM, where trial and error are part of the learning process. Instead of waiting to be called on or worrying about getting the “right” answer, every student participates, every time.

These tools are especially powerful for students with disabilities. Whiteboards provide a low-pressure way to communicate understanding for students who may struggle with writing on paper, processing speed, or verbal expression. Students can erase and try again easily, use visuals instead of words, and receive immediate feedback. This flexibility helps ensure all learners can access and engage in STEM activities at their own level.

The requested materials—class sets of whiteboards, markers, and erasers—will be used daily across all grade levels. Whether we’re modeling math strategies, sketching science observations, or planning engineering designs, these tools will support active, inclusive learning.

By providing each student with a personal workspace for thinking and creating, we can build a classroom where every idea matters and every learner is included.
