My Students

My students are creative, eager-to-learn, kind, and enthusiastic! They absolutely love reading and beg for more books to read! They also enjoy creating art and making art for projects in our class. They love being able to show their work during whole group time.

My students love getting to use quick writes with whiteboards, but the markers dry out too fast and the boards get smudged and dirty too easily.

My students are the most gracious group for what we are able to teach them. They are truly amazing, and I am very thankful to have each new group of learners who are excited and ready to learn year after year!

My Project

While working in whole group, I often like to have the students show their work as we are doing it. When we are learning new sound-spellings (short a, the letter t, bossy r, etc.) I often have students pull out their whiteboards to write words they know and words we are learning together. We do similar work in math when working on adding and subtracting to 20. The students love being able to show their work immediately.

However, markers often dry out (students forget or lose their tops), whiteboards get old and chipped, and the boards don't erase well.

These electronic boards would be great for my students to use - nothing will dry out, the boards won't smear, and they only erase when pressed the button to erase.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
