My Students

My students, past and present, are my rock stars. I absolutely love teaching, and I am always looking for ways to reach and teach all of my students. Thanks to good parenting and positive classroom culture, my rock stars are kind, polite, intelligent, fun, creative, thoughtful, and enthusiastic learners! I teach at a Title I school, which means more than half of our families are at or near the poverty line.

Students come to school each day excited to learn!

The primary years are such important years. I love to watch them grow both personally and academically. Although they are all very different and some face challenges, they all have one thing in common: they love coming to school, even this year where they have to sit six feet apart and wear a mask all day!

My Project

We love STEM in our classroom. Our day begins with STEM bins, and throughout the day students are challenged to think outside of the box. This table will allow my current and future students to practice what they are learning collaboratively and will allow them to receive help and immediate feedback. Students will be able to erase and make changes using tools that are exciting for them. I have yet to meet a student who does not get excited and motivated by both markers and color.

This table will motivate my students to show their thinking in a way that isn't permanent and allows room for mistakes!

Many students are limited by what they are comfortable showing because they are so scared to make mistakes. These tables will provide these students with a tool that takes this constraint away.

STEM careers are in high demand and will require students to master the soft skills of communication and collaboration to work closely with others.

Students need practice working together productively. More and more jobs require employees to work together in teams on projects to develop solutions. As we complete project-based learning activities, students will utilize this table to build upon these skills. Working through math problems, drawing diagrams, and illustrating vocabulary words are just a few of the ways these tables can maximize learning and be utilized across subject areas!

The possibilities are truly endless. I am excited to add these tables to our classroom. Please help us make it a reality! I have the next generation of industrial, mechanical, and electrical engineers in my classroom. Please help me give them the tools they need to collaborate!
