This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have the pleasure of teaching what makes everyone happy... dance. My class is an ancillary class provided to the children throughout the day to keep them moving, engaged, and in shape. They are a high energy, very motivated group of kids who enjoy learning about an art in which some are naturally talented and others who are wanting to learn how they can become better! In our day and age when kids only know TikTok dances, it is refreshing to teach them about various genres and pioneers in the dance world and how one day one of them may become one.

My Project

Let's get a jumpstart on healthier lifestyles. I am excited to teach my students activities that they can do at home in minimal space. Yoga has been proven to be beneficial to overall health and well being for all ages.

Learning yoga and conditioning and strengthening exercises will assist them in becoming better dancers.

It will assist me as their instructor by adding conditioning to my lesson plans and it will assist the students in transitioning to being better in shape and stronger dancers. I am excited to watch their growth and teach them more ways to become better outside of the classroom! Learning yoga in school is something they can take home and practice. When you have made the mind calm and clear you can express the divinity within you!
