This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful, and working hard to prepare for their future! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! Despite the various activities they are involved in, I still see them putting in the time and effort to be successful in an AP course so that they are prepared for college.

I can truly see that each one of my students absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.

As an educator, I recognize that a majority of my students will be first-generation college students and therefore need specialized supports to help ensure that they are academically prepared to participate in AP for an equal opportunity to succeed. Therefore I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and learning options to ensure that each student can begin to recognize the best way for them to learn!

My Project

The workbooks from Biozone align with collegeboards CED and focus on inquiry, critical thinking, and enduring understanding of key concepts. The material in the workbooks is presented clearly using a highly visual approach and integration of relevant and engaging illustrative examples.

BIOZONE’s AP Biology workbook emphasizes the application of knowledge to understanding and analyzing new problems and their approach is designed to help prepare students for college-level courses, as well as develop the essential inquiry and reasoning skills they will need as 21st-century scientists.

We will utilize these workbooks to return to each of our units after we take our MOCK AP exam so that students can review the material collaboratively and strengthen their inquiry and data analysis skills.
