Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach in a life skills support classroom. My students range from grades 9-12+ (ages 14-21). My students are using their time in school to prepare them for life after high school. They have a variety of interests and ability levels.

My students participate in a variety of jobs around the school building as part of their education.

They enjoy assisting others and in turn, they are able to gain experiences with a variety of work skills. My students are looking forward to being as independent as possible in the future.

My Project

These supplemental materials will be beneficial to all of my students by giving them the opportunity to grow in a variety of vocational skills. They will be used to identify areas of needs and develop instruction to support individuals that is needed to work independently in the community.

Students will benefit from meaningful instruction to help develop their vocational skills during school.

Students will benefit from practicing developmentally appropriate vocation tasks as a part of their daily routines. These skills will make my student’s futures brighter and allow them to have more confidence moving forward.
