Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love most about my Title I English Language Learners is their incredible resilience, enthusiasm, and deep determination to master a new language despite facing significant daily socioeconomic barriers. They bring a beautiful diversity of backgrounds to our classroom and thrive when given the structure and encouragement they need to succeed.

To support their unique needs, the copy paper, colored paper reams, and multi-colored folders will be used to create visual, color-coded learning systems and organized portfolios that scaffold language acquisition.

The mini composition notebooks and post-it notes will serve as low-stakes tools for daily interactive writing and formative check-ins, while the laminator and sheets will permanently preserve the visual vocabulary cards and anchor charts essential for their constant linguistic reinforcement.

The physical classroom environment will also be transformed into an equitable, smooth-running space where basic shortages never stall learning. Reliable pencil sharpeners, tape, pens, glue sticks, and staple removers ensure that every child has immediate access to functional tools, while the digital clock helps them visually manage time during reading, writing, and speaking blocks. Furthermore, badge clips and retractable pen holders will streamline classroom routines to maximize our instructional time.

Finally, we will target the emotional barriers that often hinder language learning. The fidget rings and mood rings will provide critical sensory outlets to lower student anxiety, while the Jolly Ranchers will offer immediate, positive reinforcement during high-stakes verbal participation, keeping my students motivated and celebrated every step of the way.
