My Project

These Wordly Wise vocabulary books will help support our literacy-rich classroom. My students love to read but can find enjoying a book or reading activity difficult when they do not understand the words in the texts. These vocabulary workbooks will give my students a chance each day to practice new vocabulary words, which will, in turn, strengthen their comprehension and fluency. They will be able to enjoy a wider range of reading materials and feel more confident in reading aloud, writing literary analysis essays, and engaging in book talks with their peers.

Support my students' curiosity in wondrous words!

My students read independent reading books as well as classroom novels for our curriculum. Enhancing their vocabulary skills with practice each day will pave the way for my students' reading levels to increase, giving them the confidence they deserve because they are such hard workers! Many of my students are struggling learners and research shows that increased word knowledge is the key to stronger comprehension and success on tests. My students need (and deserve) strong explicit vocabulary instruction and the Wordly Wise vocabulary workbooks will allow for this instruction. This project will enrich the experiences my students have with reading!
