Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low income area, I see my students are faced with challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. Despite their obstacles, they are eager to learn and are excited when new topics are presented to them.

My students are very "hands-on" and learn best when they can be part of their own learning.

They are loving and sweet and are motivated each school day. My students are able to grow when they are in a positive classroom with the right materials.

My Project

My students need a word wall that will not fall apart. Our current word walls are made from stapled papers.

My students refer to their word walls throughout the day and use it across all subjects, not just writing.

I want my students to transfer all skills learned across all subject areas. My students understand that their word wall can be used in writing, reading, and mathematics.

A personal word wall,My Word Journal, will also allow students to customize it to them and their needs in school. This tool will also allow my students to become more independent in the classroom.
