My classroom is full of students who are emergent bilingual learners. All of my students are learning English. My emergent bilingual learners are either recent arrivals or brand new to the country. My students bring a wide variety of cultures, languages, and experiences in the classroom in order to create a diverse learning environment.
In addition to learning English, my students are expected to expand their knowledge in order to reach the second grade Common Core curriculum state standards.
My school is a small, inclusive, public school that is part of a large urban district where over 75% receive free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
My students need wobble stools to sit at the rainbow table during Guided Reading. First of all, we do not even have enough chairs to fill our classroom to begin with. So if we need more chairs, why not make them wobble stools!
Wobble stools allow our students to fidget productively!
They let students wobble while still staying focused. All day they sit in hard chairs and or on the floor and these wobble stools help my students have a change of pace and change of seating arrangements. Please help my students stay focused and have seating!
