My Project

My ESL students come from all over the world with so many wonderful and intriguing ideas and thoughts to share. They have such incredible, diverse cultural backgrounds that they can share with their peers. Having my ESL students from other countries in our school is like gifting the rest of the native-born American students by opening the door to a whole new world and cultures beyond theirs. The unfortunate reality is that they are too often limited due to the language barrier, which keeps them from being able to express themselves fully in the English language.

The material requested would truly make a difference in the learning of my ELLs by giving them the opportunity to understand the English language more instantaneously as well as express their thoughts more easily.

My school community has a large number of ELLs which causes too many students in one group. Having the iPad will help me provide more assistance and access to my ELLs with the lowest English proficiency when I am not readily available for them. It will also help my students will be able to accomplish more independently and make learning more equitable for them. My students will be ecstatic to be able to express themselves and understand more clearly through translation applications on an iPad as they continue on this journey of building up their English vocabulary.
