Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students represent many different countries. They are Students with Limited or Interrupted Formal Education (SLIFE). I have students that are on various different levels academically and socially. For many of them it is the first time that they are in a formal school setting. They are hardworking, curious, and motivated. Many of them are older and need to maintain themselves and they must work 40+ hours weeks. Through all of this they still manage to come to school happy.
My Project
My students are all newcomers and are learning English. I also have a SLIFE Special education class. These students can be intimidated participate on the board. With the iPad students are able to participate form anywhere in the room.
The iPad and the iPad pen are ideal for when students are explaining their thinking.
Their ideas will be able to be seen on the projected screen. Using math graphing apps students will be able to graph precisely using the iPad.
Another benefit is that these notes will be able to be saved and students can access them remotely from anywhere.
