As my students walk into my classroom everyday, I am greeted with a smile and a hug (or sometimes a wave). They enter knowing that each day they are going to get to engage with the topics they love.
My students love learning and love one another.
As they open the door to the world of reading, they get the opportunity to learn about the world around them and make connections with all types of people, places, and things.
Their diverse backgrounds and interests make my students a fun group! We have students from many different cultures and students who speak multiple languages. They are also diverse in their learning styles and interests, which is why differentiation is a crucial part of every lesson.
I am so lucky to work with such loving, fun, and diverse class!
My Project
I am looking to have differentiation in my classroom that extends beyond the different types of assignments I create. I plan diversify my room with the physical accommodations, too.
I believe that every student should have the same opportunity to learn.
Our class has several students who need to wiggle! With the wobble chairs available to them, I believe that they will be able to focus more on the content than the distractions around them.
These seats will not only help the students who need to wiggle, but it will also help the friends around them who can get off task or distracted by their movement.
