Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year I have had a unique group of wiggly second graders. Most students just fidget and wiggle around in their seats in a normal way, but many of my students this year grabbed on to the sides of their seats and pulled on the part of the chair that connects to the legs. This has caused the chair to pull away from the legs and become majorly squeaky! As a result, I had to find another solution beyond my regular flexible seating options.

These wiggle seat and chair leg options will give my students the opportunity to wiggle however they need to wiggle.

They won't be wiggling so big that they're a distraction to those around them, but they will be able to move in many different directions.

I wish I had the power to give students more time to play, but increased educational requirements just don't allow for that. Some students simply cannot focus without also wiggling and getting energy out. It is my job to give them the best chance for success, and these additions to my flexible seating options can help!
