Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Against all odds, my students show up to school happy and eager to learn each and every day. My school offers free lunch to over 85% of the students. I have anywhere between 22-26 students who love being with their teachers and classmates. My students want to feel successful and proud, and it is my responsibility to ensure they have the tools they need to reach these goals. The worst feeling a teacher can have is not being able to execute a fantastic lesson due to lack of materials. My students deserve better and with your help, their dreams are possible.

My Project

This iPad will make it possible for parents to link in with my daily math lessons. Each lesson has a video for parents to watch with special math lessons to do with their child. This will not only reinforce the math lesson for the student but will help their parent learn Common Core Math so they can help their children.

Parents can watch lessons and know exactly how I taught the math lesson that day.

They can complete homework and activities to reinforce each math lesson.

When students struggle with their homework they can review the lesson on the computer and watch the reteach videos and activities. This will prevent them from falling behind. This math program has many resources that I am unable to utilize because my students do not have the technology they need.

I have offered many workshops after school on my personal time to help teach the new math to my parents. I have always had a huge turnout with caring parents eager to learn so they could feel proud and able to help their children. What a wonderful chance I could have to help them even more!
