Help me give my students the resources to have individual whiteboards made out of laminating pouches that will allow me to create two sided boards that are lightweight for students to keep in their book bags.
My mathematics classroom is filled with many different students with various backgrounds. It is my goal to create an environment where students of all levels can be challenged and achieve success. I teach 5 classes of 7th grade Math.
Checking for understanding is a key component of my Math instruction because I have such a wide range of abilities in my classes; it is important to do quick checks during a lesson to make sure that ALL students are keeping up with me.
I am able to quickly to see where my students are and am able to appropriately move forward based on student responses.
My students come to class ready to learn and eager to prepare for their futures. Things are going to be a little different this year with masks, social distancing, and safety guidelines. My usual group work and hands on activities will not be a part of instruction during this time. Students will not be able to share supplies.
It is important to provide for the needs of ALL students not just a majority. I love that my students all learn differently and enjoy finding creative and innovative ways to reach them all.
My Project
I like to use white boards in my class as a quick and easy method to check for understanding.
This year students are not allowed to share materials; but I wanted every one of my students to have his/her own dry erase board.
Since students will have to keep their materials in their bookbags, the usual dry erase boards would be heavy. I wanted to lighten the load for them. The pouches will allow me to have a blank side and a coordinate grid side for students to use in class. Students may also use these for scratch work both in class and at home.
