My Students

Kindergarten is a magical, exciting place that welcomes children entering with a wide range of abilities and needs. Our learners come together from diverse backgrounds to build a strong community through project-based learning and shared experiences.

In our class, we meet students where they are and facilitate the growth we know they are capable of.

We do this through play, reading, writing, and creating. We know every member of our community brings something to the table and we want to provide appropriate materials to help them all be the best they can be.

My Project

Kindergartners need to all be able to get their hands on learning materials to fully participate in learning. Without a tangible, immediate way to participate, young learners may not fully apply new skills. We use whiteboards almost every day in both language arts and math so that all students can show and share their thinking. Having physical letters that they are able to physically manipulate will help guide the choices of learners who are just starting out on their literacy journey placing an emphasis on the function of the letters and not just their formation.

Donation to this project goes directly into the hands of students.

It will help to increase not only their focus and participation but also the amount of feedback they receive as they make their thinking visible.
