My Students

In my 7th grade math classroom I am working hard to make every student truly believe they are a math person.

My students are lively and energetic 7th graders.

They love to learn especially from each other. In my classroom we do a lot of partner work, partner talk and group work. Collaboration is part of our learning process on a daily basis but the furniture in our classroom makes this difficult at times. We only have a lot of large desks in a small classroom.

My Project

At the beginning of this school year I introduced my students to the idea of a growth mindset and that anyone can be a math person. We also celebrate mistakes because they are proof that our brains are growing. My students come to me on all different levels so to continue building their growth mindset and math knowledge it is essential that I am able to work with my students in small groups. This white board table will not only allow my students to get individualized instruction, it will also allow us to try, try, and try again on each math problem, growing our brains each step of the way.

This white board table will help continue to cultivate the small group collaborative environment that my classroom needs to grow minds and turn every student that comes through my door into a math person.
