Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The thing that I love the most about my students is that they push me to reinvent the way I do things. I teach in an area where approximately two-thirds of the students are at an economic disadvantage, but they don't let that define who they are. My students have diverse backgrounds and I love to get to know all of their stories and embrace the awesome kids that they are! My students never fail to inspire me to become a better teacher. My students are 7th grade math students that are always looking for a challenge! They don't just want to learn something, they want to apply meaning to it and they want to know that it is relevant. I want to be able to give them the opportunity to learn and have fun and challenge themselves in the process.

My students have been printing like crazy!

They love to come in before school, get the printers going and come right after school to see their finished creation. Being that we print so much, we need to replenish our filament. I love to keep a variety of colors and textures on hand for my students to create with. Please help us continue to create and learn about tested concepts like surface area and volume!
