My Project

”In special education, there’s too much emphasis placed on the deficit and not enough on the strength” is my favorite quote by Temple Grandin. It has always been my goal and passion to provide each of my students with the ability to show the world what they are actually capable of despite their disabilities.

Collier’s Cafe is something that started out teaching the students to make a simple snack to now a full blow cafe where we take orders and prepare full lunches for the staff including an entree, side dish, dessert, and a drink.

By donating to our project you are helping provided better equipment for our cafe. The cooktop will provide a better cooking surface with safety features for when the cooking surface is not in use. The warming tray will help keep our food warm in between deliveries. The knives, cutting boards and aprons will be used to ensure each chef has their own tool to prepare the food. The cart will provide a steady location for the cooktop and other cooking equipment to be housed during cooking time.
