Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are exposed to read alouds through the curriculum taught in the classroom. Many of these stories are great for centers in the classroom that the students love to explore. Students can use books in centers in many different ways and I want to give them the chance to do so.

The best way to encourage good reading habits is to provide a variety of books that are of interest to my students.

As the units change throughout the school year, the demand for the literature as a resource is in need for my classroom. Books will be provided in the class library to reinforce the read alouds for ELA. Also, writing buckets will include activities to go along with nursery rhyme books and classic tale books. Students will have a variety of stories to choose from to be able to understand how some books are different and not all the same. Books will also be placed in the dramatic play area as a reference to help with oral development.
