My students need 9 science kits to explore animals, seasons, insects, life cycles and more! We need items that encourage hands on learning in science in our classroom.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
We are going "buggy" because we only have worksheets and crayons available to learn science. We are only 5 years old and learn best when we can explore our world.
My students are low income and rarely have opportunities to explore outside of their home or school setting. They are often fascinated by the smallest event that touches their lives. For example we caught a ladybug and spent a week talking about it. {we let it go after a half hour) They did not know what it was and were eager to learn all about it.
We need science kits so my students can explore animals, seasons, insects, life cycles and more! Currently all of our science is taught with worksheets, picture books and crayons. Supplementing my current activities with "hands on" materials would greatly enhance my students ability to understand their world.
Kindergarten is the age of exploration and wonder. Help me to instill and wonder in my students that will keep them learning long after the leave my room.
