Wellness Wednesday: A Day to Move, Recharge and Thrive!

Help me give my students a Wellness Wednesday That Inspires Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts!

My Project

My students work hard every day to achieve academic success. They consistently demonstrate determination, perseverance, and a commitment to learning as they strive to meet high academic expectations. While this focus on academic growth is important, it often leaves little time for students to prioritize their social, emotional, and mental well-being.

My goal is to provide students with a Wellness Wednesday experience that nurtures their physical, mental, and emotional well-being through engaging, hands-on activities.

Throughout the day, students will participate in movement, mindfulness, creative expression, team-building, and social-emotional learning experiences that encourage healthy habits, build resilience, and strengthen positive relationships.

Each item requested supports one of the seven pillars of wellness. For example, the parachute, jump ropes, basketballs, footballs, and soccer balls will be used for outdoor play, promoting students' physical well-being through active movement and exercise. The sensory items, including the fidget box, stress cubes, and weighted dinosaur, will help students feel grounded while supporting emotional regulation and self-management.

In addition to promoting physical wellness, I also want to support students' mindfulness and social well-being through cooperative learning activities. The board games, coloring books, and word searches will provide meaningful opportunities for students to work together, build positive relationships, practice communication and problem-solving skills, and develop self-regulation in a fun, supportive environment.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
