My Project

My students are caring and loving and have the biggest hearts of all! They love to help and do things for others and are always so thankful and they are very grateful when others are caring or giving to them.

This project will be an extra special gift of caring and warmth to increase good mental and physical health, combat hunger, and embrace caring and wellness.

Giving stuffed Wellness buddies with a snack and card to others or each other who may be dealing with mental or health issues or feeling blue will help students learn kindness and empathy and is aligned with promoting warmth and care and hunger. Students will create "wellness buddies" with containers and bracelet-making items for each other when they are both hungry and need mental health care because they are hungry or have other hunger and care-related needs. The stuffed animals are the buddies, and the various-sized boxes, mini-containers, and carriers will be used as carriers for them and snacks together. The pipe cleaners, beads, stickers, and envelopes will help to keep the crafting items all together. Snacks such as crackers and chips will be kept on hand to keep away any hunger and to help with upset tummies. The food boxes will be used to put a snack with the wellness buddy stuffed animal to send with the snacks.

The cards and envelopes will be used to create wellness cards or for messages of care and to help uplift their spirits. The small clear pouches will be used to house stickers to help decorate the animal carriers, woven bags are to carry them home if need be. Clear labels will be needed to help label the mini containers or food boxes with caring messages.
