My Students

My 7th grade and high school art students are curious and creative. They enjoy being able to make choices based on their inspirations and interests. They find the most success when they intuitively explore the characteristics of materials, techniques, and working processes. Many of the students view art as therapeutic and as an outlet for self-expression.

I want to give every one of my students the same opportunity to create during our period of virtual art-making.

There is nothing better than to see the pride that a student takes in their development and growing skill.

My Project

As we continue to navigate this time of uncertainty, I want to highlight the importance of art as a critical part of a student's well-being and holistic learning. I want to assemble an art kit for each of my students so that they may continue actively working during our time as virtual remote learning. The students will also use their art kits in class upon their return to school.

My goal is to provide the same opportunities and materials for each student, in order to best succeed in their artistic development and for showing their creativity.

This project will allow for the following additional materials to be used by each student:

- oil pastels

- watercolor set

- a brush set

- colored pencils

- quality drawing paper

- permanent markers
