My Students

Government class can change the way Americans feel about government and politics. I want to put complaining aside and roll up our sleeves so students can see the true spirit of American Government.

I teach in a rural, high poverty school in Michigan.

I have taught high school social studies for the past 12 years. I am now going to be able to offer Advanced Placement American Government at our high school, and students can receive college credit.

My Project

In order to teach this Advance Placement Government Class, a great deal of reading is involved and a textbook is needed for the class. By trying to get textbooks in small quantities, it may be more attainable to get the textbooks. Students should not have to purchase the textbooks themselves, because we still are a public high school, and all students should have the same opportunity regardless of socioeconomic status.

By helping our district, you are helping the future of our country.

This class will shape students to become engaged and responsible citizens. They will be taking a course that is challenging, rigorous, and it will be rewarding in the end. We just need the resources to get through it.
