Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Greetings Donors: Our school is located in Dallas, TX which is right in the path of the April 8, 2024 Solar Eclipse. The students are very excited about the possibility of learning more and "seeing" the solar eclipse.

For each student to have their own book and set of glasses to view the eclipse would be an amazing experience for them .

Our students are part of the Juvenile Justice System and are often unable to have these type of activities. Letot is a Residential Center where the students live during the time of their court ordered stay.

In Texas, 8th graders take an end of course exam in Science. They must pass to be eligible to go on to 9th grade.

Funding this project will contribute to their study of the Universe, a very important part of the tested middle school curriculum.

Perhaps we will be educating a future astronaut!
