My students need Hokki Stools to help them be successful in the classroom. Wiggly friends would benefit from these most as it would provide them with success within the classroom.
My students are a group of fun, loving and creative individuals who have the whole world at their fingertips. Our class is made up of children with a variety of backgrounds and history which brings character to our classroom.
My students are ambitious, adventurous, considerate and witty.
Their willingness to try new things, explore the unknown and learn from their mistakes is admirable. The excitement and love they have for one another show that school isn't just about learning how to solve math problems but also learning how to create lifelong friendships.
My Project
Hokki Stools were created to support students who need to wiggle but still remain focused. I have a handful of students who would benefit from them as they struggle with body control and have a hard time staying seated in a traditional, nonmoving chair.
I would love to be able to offer these Hokki Stools to my friends who need constant movement.
The stools would allow them to remain seated during my lessons and independent work time but would offer the freedom of movement.
I have witnessed the effect these amazing stools have on some children. With a little bit of movement, it actually zeros in their focus and keeps them concentrated for longer periods of time. Surprisingly, once students are given rules and expectations, they aren't used as a "fun seat" but truly used as a traditional chair like any of their peers have. These particular stools would be given to those that need the additional support. It would be their stool for the year or for however long they feel they need it. They would be used throughout the day during all periods to help students focus on reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.
