This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a second grade teacher of students with varied abilities in a critical needs area. They are energetic, bold, expressive and at times very challenging. This school year they will be guided to meet very high expectations to do their very best.
As we steadily approach an age of thinking outside of the box to meet the needs of our students, I want my students to join the wave, therefore my goal is to give them as many resources as possible.
Some of my students cannot complete tasks because resources are not available to them. In an effort to prepare tomorrow's workforce, my students need to be properly armed with academics and technology. One of my goals is to cater to those needs while still maintaining an inclusive environment. I teach a great group of students and I am excited to broaden each one of their horizons. I personally take joy in helping to invest in their future.
My Project
My students need 180 days of instruction books to give them added skill practice. These books contain materials the students will be able to use to supplement their daily differentiated instructions. I will model the lesson expectations and then allow the students to complete assigned tasks.
180 days of instruction books will give consistent lessons throughout the duration of the school year, and will help the students progress through the curriculum because their preparation for the next grade level is my primary concern.
Having these books will afford my students an opportunity to practice what they have learned during whole group instruction.
