My Project

Almost all of my students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch. Many of them are struggling readers who are often easily distracted and have trouble concentrating but all of them want to learn and all of them are starving for education.

My 37 second graders are great students but they suffer from a serious handicap of an over crowded classroom with limited resources.

The pandemic has been hard on my students and their families. They suffer from food insecurities and they have no money for basic school supplies or winter gear.

My students need help. Currently, because of crowded conditions, my students work at desks that are grouped in rows. This makes it very hard for students to concentrate. I have tried everything I can think of to change our classroom but I do not have the space.

My students need foaming soap, tissues and wipes to reduce the spread of germs. They need caps and gloves so they can go out to recess. They also need folders to hold their work and some simple, fun incentives to reward them for their good work. Finally, they need some small snacks to see them through the long afternoons.

Simple supplies can make such a big change in our classroom climate.

I have no money for these "luxuries". I need the help of donors. Our district is facing a very difficult funding shortfall, and we have been told there is absolutely no money for supplies. I am asking for these basic supplies for my second graders. I am desperate. Please help my kids.
