This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
“There's nothing as exciting as a comeback - seeing someone with dreams, watching them fail, and then getting a second chance." - Rachel Griffiths. This statement is very true-especially for my students. Many of the students that I interact with are those who have made mistakes in their lives and are looking for someone to believe in them. I try to ensure that the students that I interact with know that there is someone who is not judging them from their past, but someone who is investing in their future.
My Project
"I don't have any paper." As unbelievable as this is, this is a common statement for many of my students-especially as we approach the end of the year. It seems as if most of the students have lost their tablets or notebooks and do not see the relevance of bringing paper to school. However, I must remind them, "We are still in school!"
Each of my students will be assigned a tablet to take notes of relevant information such as vocabulary terms, math problems, reading notes, and other needed information.
I will place the students' names on their tablets and store them in the classroom. They will be given their individual tablets whenever they are needed.
