This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are extremely enthusiastic first through fifth grade, gifted and talented students. These kids have so much potential to be great leaders. Reading and art are favorite activities among my students and our classroom library is a place where many students delve in, to flesh-out and explore new ideas. They love to express what they have read through creative endeavors.
My students are creative, critical thinkers that are filled with boundless energy and curiosity.
They have an innate desire to learn by reading and to truly push the envelope in terms of what is possible.
My Project
My students are digital natives. They need answers and they need them yesterday! These students know inherently how to navigate the ins and outs of the Internet to seek understanding of important topics. The questions my students have are endless, and as a public school teacher I only have access to a few old computers for them to use.
iPads are a necessary tool for students to research their questions and to present their findings.
Wireless Bluetooth speakers will help students present iMovies, Prezis, etc. in order to impart their new knowledge to others. Using technology is an easy way for teachers to get students engaged in relevant and necessary content areas.
