Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located in southwest Detroit. My students come to school eager and ready to learn. A majority of my students are English Language Learners (ELL/ESL). Their native language is Spanish, with little English spoken at home. It is necessary to provide them with as many learning opportunities as possible within the classroom.

My students are amazing.

They are unique in their own ways and have different learning styles. A variety of learning tools and hands-on activities in my classroom are a must. My goal is to help them achieve all their goals and dreams.

My Project

As a teacher, I strive to bring a variety of high-interest books to my students. I would like to increase the number of books my students have to read. I have been working to get more books for my students. Pokémon books are what my students have requested. These are the books that they all want from the school library, but there are not enough copies.

My goal is to create lifelong readers in second grade.

Children who can read fluently will be more successful in school. The books that I have chosen will appeal to my class. They are engaging titles for all readers. The dry erase markers will replenish our supply! Thank you for your support!
